Before ordering your Solar Piling Lights Caps, be sure to measure each one of your piling to make sure you order the correct size. You may need to order a few different sizes if your pilings vary in diameter.
Method 1: Measure Diameter Directly
- Place the measuring tape straight across the top of your piling, from one edge directly to the opposite edge.
- Make sure the tape is level and passes through the center of the piling.
- Record this measurement in inches; this is your piling diameter.
- Example: If your piling measures 7 1/4", you will have to order the next size up for it to fit. In this example, you would order the 8".
Method 2: Measure Circumference and Calculate Diameter
- Wrap the measuring tape around the outside of the piling, keeping it snug and level.
- Record this measurement in inches; this is the piling circumference.
- Use a calculator and divide the circumference by pi (3.14)
- Example: If your piling measures 7 1/4", you will have to order the next size up for it to fit. In this example, you would order the 8".
